Our Initiative

ADIRE has been working since 2003 in the villages of Orissa, India for sustainable development of healthy communities and happy life for all using green environment initiatives, clean energy, universal education, and local jobs. ADIRE’s initiative is focused on two fundamental concepts of smart development: Harness local natural resources and Develop & modernize local skills in four major areas through an integrated program we call "HELP".

This four dimensional HELP program with initial dose of Skills and capitals(K) not only support each other but also groom and get supports from rural Labor and Land resources. The non profits like ADIRE must provide the much needed Infrastructure where government agencies have failed to do so. These rural infrastrucures could be the good roads, bridges, buildings, micro- electric or water supply- grid, electric mobility, Internet, and mobile health services.

Acquiring appropriate Infrastructure as needed, villagers progressive use renewable energy and efficient technologies (RE) to quickly update their primitive skill sets with modern appropriate SKILL. Self sustaining micro production activities in the village itself we believe make a twentyfirst century miracle that is storm-hardened, non-destructible and resilient to human induced and natural calamities. Ultimately, we believe, only such "smart villages help build smarter cities".
